Manfredi Barbera maintains traditional values with an innovative
spirit to create quality products such as this fine 100% extra virgin
olive oil.
Barbera has located the most renowned olive growing zones in Sicily
with specific microclimatic characteristic terrain, typology and exposure.
Barbera has singled out in Sicily area that are in the western region
such as the provinces of Trapani, Agrigento,Palermo different varieties
of Nocellara, Biancolilla,Cerasuola and Ogliarola which we are proud to
present to you.
Cultivation
Each phase of the cultivation (from the pruning to the harvesting of the
olives) is constantly supervised, ensuring the best qualitative yield
possible. Selected cultivators from each zone hand pick the olives at
harvest and are brought the same day to the “frantoi” or oil presses.
Bottling
The oil thus selected, once pressed is decanted in steel tanks for a
period of time between 2 to 10 weeks and then brought to the bottling
plant in Palermo where monocultivar (a single olive variety) or blend
(different olive varieties) are created. An on-site research laboratory
inside the plant assures the severe and rigorous quality control necessary
for such a great product.
